Larry Johnson was arrested at a bar? Not again!

Larry Johnson’s seven years as a Kansas City Chief were marked by a couple of remarkable seasons (2005, 2006), during which he set the franchise record for most rushing yards in a single season and the league record for most rushing attempts, AND ALSO a litany of off-the-field infractions that reflected very poorly on the man’s character. A browsing of our archive nets several dozen posts related to Johnson’s nonathletic exploits. Most have to do with his saying homophobic things in public and getting into fights, often with women, at now-closed local clubs like Blonde and the Drink. Feel free to stroll down memory lane here.

Last we heard from Johnson, he was makin’ it rain as a part-time DJ at a strip club called Tootsie’s Cabaret, in Miami. Today comes word that Johnson was arrested following a bar fight last night in Miami.

From TMZ:

Johnson allegedly got pissed at another patron at the club inside the Delano Hotel for “taking drinks from his table.”

The alleged victim told police Johnson punched him in the face, sending him to the ground … and then “broke a bottle on the table and began swinging it toward him.”

According to the police report, the victim told cops Johnson then punched him in the face a few more times while he was on the ground.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, at some point during Johnson’s arrest, he told the officers he used to play for the Miami Dolphins.
