Lafayette County authorities seek help in identifying woman’s body found in trunk of burning car

Earlier this week, the body of a woman was found in the trunk of a burning car in Lafayette County.
Now, authorities in Lafayette County are asking for the public’s help in identifying the homicide victim. They’ve released photos of the victim’s jewelry, including the necklace on the right with the inscription, “Through love through friendship a heart lives more than one life.”
The quote is attributed online to French author Anais Nin.
The woman’s body was found in a silver 2007 Toyota Corolla, which was reported stolen from Merriam, Kansas, on January 9.
The car was found just a few miles north of Bates City on Sni-A-Bar road.
Authorities said they were investigating the case as a homicide. An
autopsy revealed that the victim was 5-feet tall and light skinned. But so far, the woman hasn’t matched missing persons reports.
If you know a missing person with this jewelry, call the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at 660-259-3622 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
After the jump, more photos of the woman’s jewelry.
