Kraftwerk is coming to Kansas City for the first time in 40 years

Kraftwerk hasn’t played a concert in Kansas City since 1975, according to Consequence of Sound, which got the jump on the band’s tour announcement this morning. (Looks like it was at Memorial Hall? Anybody out there remember this show? Would love to hear about it.)

The German electronic-music trailblazers somewhat improbably return, 40 years later, to Kansas City on Friday, October 9, of this year. The show — one of only 12 North American dates; you should be flattered —  is at the Midland. Tickets are on sale this Friday (May 8) at 10 a.m.

The traveling Kraftwerk show has been described as a “pure electronic art-rave.” 3-D glasses are involved. More info here.
