Killith Faire brings a delightfully dark femme-rock fundraiser to recordBar on Feb. 10
For one night only, the first ever Killith Faire is happening at recordBar on Saturday, Feb. 10., at 7 p.m. This event will feature more than 20 women and femme musicians in one large collaborative effort.
A portion of the money raised will be donated to the Midwest Music Foundation, an organization that helps local musicians with grants for emergency medical care.
Performers include Alyssa Murray, Breaka Dawn, Hannah Novaria, Heidi Phillips, Hillary Watts, Jade Green, Jessica Harp, Jessica Salley, Jocelyn Nixon, Kandi Kos, Kirsten Paludan, Kristin Conkright, Kristin Hamilton, Leah Sproul, Michelle Bacon, Mikal Shapiro, Miki P, Nan Turner, Spencer Goertz-Giffen, and Tracy Flowers. The event will also feature a DJ set by Stephanie Marchesi and emcee Sarah Bradshaw of 90.9 The Bridge.
The event is being organized by Kristin Conkright, who had previously received a grant from MMF.
“I like to be able to pay that back,” Conkright says. “Plus, I just love the work they do and the people who are involved with that.”
Programs like this allow musicians to do the work that they do and seek proper healthcare and insurance.
Tickets are $20, with VIP seating being $45. As for merchandise, Conkright herself is actually putting down her own money for some swag.
“We’ll do some Killith Faire branded shirts and posters and probably just keep it at that, keep it simple,” Conkright says.
Killith Faire will be hosted at recordBar on Saturday, February 10. Tickets are available here.
