Killa City: Victim’s family says Adrian Burks had threatened to kill Amanda Remmers and others prior to Monday’s homicides

The family members of the victims of  Monday’s quadruple homicide told The Kansas City Star and KCTV-5 that Adrian Wayne Burks had threatened to kill 21-year-old Amanda J. Remmers and everyone in the home at 5234 Munice Drive.

Remmers, 66-year-old James A. Warren, 41-year-old Peggy Castleberry and

3-year-old Juanita D. Castleberry-Bess were found shot to death Monday.

Burks was arrested on Tuesday following a police chase that ended

in a crash. The 37-year-old Burks was charged with an aggravated battery that also happened Monday. KCTV-5 reports that the man who Burks allegedly beat up was seen with Remmers at an auto parts store earlier that day.

Burks has not been charged in the quadruple homicide. However, he has been

referred to as a “person of interest.”

Burks did have a criminal record, which included fatally shooting a man in March. Burks’ cousin told the Star the shooting was in “self-defense.”
