Killa City: One dead, eight others shot Sunday morning

A man in his 20s was shot to death outside of Grand Slam Liquors, 631 Grand Boulevard, Sunday morning.

Kansas City police arrived on the scene at around 10 a.m. and found a black man with a gunshot wound lying in the east parking lot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses saw a vehicle with two black men leaving the scene at the time of the shooting. If you have tips, call 816.474.8477.

Also Sunday morning, eight people were shot in two separate incidents. None of the injuries were life threatening. The Kansas City Star says four were shot near Westport Road and Mill Street. Three arrests were made, but the Star says it’s not clear if they’re linked to the shootings.

Around the same time, four more people were wounded in the 200 block of Admiral Boulevard. KMBC Channel 9 reports that the shooting was outside Club NV.
