Killa City: Lionel R. Henderson charged with killing Ashley D. Thomas and her unborn baby

A fourth victim in last Friday’s shooting that killed Ashley D. Thomas and her unborn baby has fingered Lionel R. Henderson as the “look out” in the shooting.
Police arrested Henderson, 25, on Saturday, and the fourth victim, who was grazed in the neck by a bullet, picked out Henderson from a police lineup.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Henderson today with two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action and two counts of first-degree assault.
Police found Thomas, who was nine-months pregnant, and her boyfriend shot inside a car in the 1300
block of East Armor around 5:18 p.m.
Thomas was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Doctors were unable to
save Thomas’ baby. The male shooting victim — reportedly in his late
teens to early twenties — is still in critical condition, police say.
Kansas City police’s latest “daily homicide analysis” reports that the city is up to 104 homicides for 2009.
