Killa City: KCMO homicides No. 70 and 71, Donald Wilson and Ricky L. Jones found dead Saturday morning
Two people are dead following a shooting and a stabbing early Saturday morning.
Kansas City police were called to a shooting at 31st and Elmwood.
Witnesses told police that two people were shot inside a vehicle in the 4500 block of Linwood and ended up driving to a local hospital. One of the victims, a 21-year-old black man, died at the hospital; police have not released his name, yet. The shooting happened around 1:31 a.m.
Seven minutes later, officers were called to St. John and Denver on a stabbing. Police found 53-year-old Donald Wilson lying in the street. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Update (4:55 p.m. Monday, August 3): Kansas City police say the man who was killed at 31st and Elmwood is 21-year-old Ricky L. Jones, of Kansas City.
Jones’ Facebook page has already turned into a memorial.
