Killa City: KCMO homicides No. 39 and 40, Rebecca Amparan-Chacon and Teriyonna Stevenson

The death toll in Kansas City, Missouri, reached 40 over the weekend. Kansas City police were called to a shooting at 2855 Southwest Boulevard at around 11:45 p.m. Friday. They found 27-year-old Rebecca Amparan-Chacon dead from gunshot wounds.

Another woman in her 20s or 30s was wounded and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A man in his 20s also showed up at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police believe that an argument between the man and another unidentified man led to the shooting.

On Saturday, Lee’s Summit underwater recovery and homicide detectives searched the pond at Penn Valley Park for evidence (gun?).

Also on Saturday, at around 1:10 a.m., police found 17-year-old Teriyonna Stevenson suffering from gunshot wounds at 3627 Michigan. Stevenson was taken to a local hospital where she died hours later from her injuries.
