Killa City: Gevante Anderson charged in Raytown quadruple homicide (update)

Nearly four months after a quadruple homicide in Raytown and pleas to the public for help in catching the killer, Jackson County prosecutors charged 24-year-old Gevante D. Anderson on Friday with four counts of first-degree murder, five counts of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree burglary.
On March 16, the bodies of 33-year-old Andre D. Jones, 21-year-old Precious
Triplett and her nephews, 10-year-old Amir Clemons and 7-year-old
Gerard Clemons were found in a Raytown apartment near 61st Street and Raytown Road.
KCTV 5 reported that Gevante Anderson is Precious Triplett’s ex-boyfriend and the father of the infant found unharmed in the apartment where the bodies were found. Anderson’s home was searched days after the killings, and police reportedly found interesting “items” but Anderson’s grandmother claimed her grandson was innocent. A friend of Triplett told Fox 4 in March that Anderson “busted out all her [Triplett’s] car windows and he was acting all funny now that she was talking to Andre.”
Updated (1:34 p.m., Monday, July 13): Gevante Anderson appeared in court for the first time Monday. The Star says the father of the Clemons brothers tried unsuccessfully to speak with Anderson as he was being led out of the courtroom. Anderson’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 3.
