Killa City: Betty Grammer fatally shot while painting a house in Fairway

Betty Grammer was shot in the head while painting a Fariway house Monday morning. She died from her injuries around 11:30 p.m.
Grammer’s death is being actively investigated as a homicide, Fairway police Lt. Mike Fleming told The Pitch. Grammer’s death is Fairway’s first homicide in five years, Fleming said.
Now, Fairway police and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department are looking for Grammer’s 53-year-old estranged husband, Franklin L. Grammer Jr. They say Franklin Grammer Jr is a “person of interest” in connection with the murder of Betty Grammer, who was shot in the 6200 block of Glenfield.
Police say Franklin Grammer Jr was last seen driving a blue 2000 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck with ladder racks and Oklahoma license plates 522-MTH.
If you know where Franklin Grammer Jr is, call the Fairway police at 913-262-2364 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
