Kid Cudi brings his sad-sack rap to the Midland

The perpetually high rapper is coming to the Midland on October 18 with Chip Tha Ripper. You’ll know Kid Cudi from “Day ‘N’ Nite” — the best cut off of his album Man on the Moon: The End of Day — and the gem that had frat bros digging Ratatat, “Pursuit of Happiness.” (Either that, or the surprisingly good sample of Gaga’s “Poker Face” in (what else?) “Poke Her Face,” featuring Kanye West and Common.) He also co-wrote several tracks on Kanye’s 808s and Heartbreak, proving that his sadsack brand of emo-rap is pretty powerful stuff. Tickets are on sale on Wednesday, October 6.
