Kid Congo, the Conquerors and Dry Bonnet, Sunday at the Replay

Labor Day Eve is one of the few occasions when patrons of bars can squeeze a few extra drops from life. Without work on Monday, Sunday night at the Replay Lounge was Saturday: The Sequel. The general mood was of elation, that another day to celebrate had been created out of nothing. Accordingly, the Replay was a playground, filled to what must have been close to capacity, with fewer students than normal, and a noticeably bigger contingent of elder townies. The $3 cover was a steal when you consider what the entertainment offered: a DJ rocking a patio filled with people dancing and/or trying to have conversations, and inside the finally odorless bar, three bands making a racket.
