Kid Congo Powers recording live album in Harveyville

For those of you who missed Kid Congo Powers & the Pink Monkey Birds when they played the Jackpot back in March, you have a chance to alleviate the massive amount of shame you ought to feel.

The Harveyville Project in Harveyville, Kansas, is dedicated “to provide an inspiring, energizing environment to foster creative output.” They’ve taken over two buildings in the town: Harveyville Rural High School and Harveyville Grade School, and every year, they have a prom. This year’s prom features Kid Congo Powers and crew, whose performance will be recorded for a live album on In the Red Records, and has a theme of “Tahitian Holiday.”

In addition, the Royal Butchers, and DJ Howie Pyro will perform. Tickets are available on the Harveyville Project website or at Love Garden Sounds for $15, and must be purchased in advance. More information on rooms and transportation is available here.
