Sad news. Kevin Gray of the Kansas City Sports Commission has died after battling cancer. You’re going to see a lot of stories that call Gray a tireless advocate for sports in KC, and that’s certainly true.
Gray, 51, was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in March, according to the Star. He’d been attending the Big 12 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments when he felt a pain in his hip. The KC Sports Commission announced Gray’s death on its website (read the full letter after the jump):
