Kevin Funderburk, accused attempted rapist, knocked out by frying-pan-wielding 71-year-old woman

The age-old question of whether a frying pan is an effective weapon was answered this past weekend. On Saturday morning, an elderly woman swinging a frying beat down a man accused of attempting to rape her in her Hutchinson, Kansas, home. The Hutchinson News reported that 25-year-old Kevin Scott Funderburk was wearing a neck brace when he made his first appearance in court Tuesday.

Hutchinson police gave this account: Funderburk allegedly talked his way into the woman’s home, claiming he was homeless with nowhere to go. He was drunk, and once in the home, he’s accused of attacking the woman, holding her down and trying to rape her. The woman wasn’t having it and grabbed her frying pan and started swinging.
