Kendrick Lamar coming to Kansas City

I haven’t yet gotten around to listening to Kendrick Lamar’s debut record, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City. But I am probably the only music critic in the country who hasn’t — it’s universally getting great reviews. Lamar is from Compton, and the record is out with an assist from Dr. Dre, so it’s being hailed as, among other things, a revival of West Coast hip-hop. (Pitchfork slapped it with a 9.5, tied with Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange as the top rating of the year.) Anyway, Lamar will be at the Midland on Sunday, December 2. Tickets on sale this Friday, November 2, at 10 a.m.
