Kemper Foundation donates $250,000 for St. Louis library overhaul

No longer content with only one giant bookshelf in the Midwest, the Kemper Foundation is giving $250,000 to the St. Louis Public Library for a complete overhaul of its Central Library downtown.
The William T. Kemper Foundation was started in 1989 after William
Kemper passed away. The foundation supports arts education, civic
improvements, and health and human services in Kansas, Missouri and
Illinois. Descendant R. Crosby Kemper III is chief executive of
the Kansas City Public Library, and a hell of an interesting guy.
