KCTV5 IDs mystery woman in Pernice case, conflicts blogger

KCTV Channel 5 got a big scoop Monday, IDing the woman in this surveillance photo taken near the site where Renee Pernice’s cell phone was found. Police released the photo of the woman and the truck, hoping for more tips in the disappearance of Pernice, who has been missing since January 2.

Police already knew the woman’s name, but they weren’t telling. KCTV5’s intrepid reporters were undaunted. “Monday, KCTV5 spoke to

the mother of Kelli A. Sharp, a 38-year-old teacher at John F. Kennedy

Elementary School in Kansas City, Kan., and she said her daughter was

the woman in the image police released.”
