KC Symphony European Tour Diary: Amsterdam (Day One)
The Kansas City Symphony is in the midst of its current European tour and is sharing with The Pitch images and reactions from the trip. Their first date was Thursday, August 27, which saw the Symphony return to Amsterdam to play the Concertgebouw, the site of their first-ever European date in August of 2024.
Says Jenifer Houck, viola section, of their Amsterdam return:
“It is such a privilege to play in a hall that provides comfort and reliability. We are grateful to be able to come back to such an incredible space, and as this was the second time, it was easier to settle in and play effortlessly. It’s easy to forget this is one of the premier halls in the world, and also one of my favorite cities to visit as well. This was my fourth visit, and it was fun to be able to sit in Vondelpark, read a book, have leisurely lunches, and people-watch.”
