Life in KC is pretty delicious. In fact, there is often so much going on that it can be hard to decide where to go and what to try.

That’s where I come in.

I’ve curated this weekly list of events, openings, deals, and celebrations to keep you in-the-know. Cheers!

Opening

Tiffany Bakery: Currently in its soft-opening phase, Tiffany Bakery is the newest sweet shop in Westport. The bakery offers bánh mì, cloud cakes, breads and pastries, savory options, and other Vietnamese baked goods.

Zhoug Mediterranean: From a Lawrence gas station to a brick and mortar on W 39th–Zhoug opens this Friday to serve a new community. Fresh Mediterranean dishes with a Middle Eastern twist make up the menu, organized by customizable bowls, wraps, and platters.

Chambre Coffee: After three decades of caffeinating the neighborhood, Westport Coffee closed this spring. However, the cafe gap was short-lived, as Chambre Coffee has officially opened. The former coffee truck has been bopping around to events for the last year, so some customers already have their go-to order set. Beyond coffee, tea, chai, and matcha, Chambre specializes in cookies designed to be paired with their drinks. Picture-perfect matchas are already flooding my social media, so don’t be surprised if this is the next IG-aesthetic hot spot.

Bar K: I’m thrilled to be spending my Friday night volunteering as a judge for the Second Annual Pawsperity Pup Pageant at Bar K! The pageant is for a good cause, but Bar K’s food and drink make the night of canine cuteness even better. It’s a happy coincidence that Tiffany Watts covered the dog bar’s menu earlier this week. At the pageant last year, I had the same dish as Tiffany, and also recommend it. Tickets for the funny, furry show start at $10.

Team Cocktail Brand: The Lee’s Summit cocktail-themed clothing brand, Team Cocktail Brand, is throwing a one-year celebration that looks very on-brand. At their store in downtown Lee’s Summit, vendors and artists will be set up for the event from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., in addition to food trucks and the pop-up bar, Twisted Peach.

The Mandarin: At Vivilore’s event space, The Mandarin, a pop-up honoring AANHPI Heritage Month will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Among the many tasty vendors is Coi Nguon Coffee, and you can pick up a salted coffee, cafe sua da, or Saigon white to try before the brick-and-mortar shop opens soon on N. Oak Trafficway.

Dragon Wagon: The Vietnamese food truck, Dragon Wagon, will be outside of Made Mobb in Crossroads. From 12 – 4 p.m., Dragon Wagon will serve food while Made Mobb hosts a special Labubu pop-up event.

Incline on 9th: Head to the West Bottoms for drag brunch at Incline on 9th. Reservations are available for two seatings for drag brunch. The restaurant’s brunch menu features a large selection of eggs benedict, breakfast classics, and creative takes like breakfast soup. Tickets start at $5 in advance.

Jim’s Alley Bar: Attention service industry folks–free dinner alert. Jim’s and Gin World are extending a warm welcome to bartenders, barbacks, chefs, servers, and more for a free family meal and special gin-based cocktails. Pop in between 8 – 11 p.m., no ticket or RSVP required.
