Something New

Delicious countdowns: KC Bier Co. has an Advent Bier Calendar Box featuring a variety of German-inspired beers for $60. Boulevard Brewing Co.’s Advent Calendar features 24 surprise beers for $69.95. Christopher Elbow in Crossroads has a beautifully crafted Chocolate Advent Calendar for $150. 

Sweet EMOtion Ice Cream: On Armour Blvd. in North Kansas City, Sweet EMOtion has dropped a new menu of vegan treats. Festive flavors like Holly Jolly Apple and Forget December feature a range of floats, ice cream sandwiches, and more. This menu is actually just a phase.

Bo’s Kitchen: From the owners of Bo Ling’s comes Bo’s Kitchen–a new casual Chinese restaurant in River Market. The menu is designed to be enjoyed in-house or on the go, with care taken to ensure that textures are just as good after a carryout journey to your home. Bo’s is open now, Tuesdays through Sundays.

Pinches Tacos: Pinches Tacos recently opened in Westport, serving fresh, authentic Mexican food. In addition to tacos and burritos, Pinches has a weekend brunch menu from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Betty Rae’s: Betty Rae’s ice cream is now easier than ever to find. Pints are now available at 28 Cosentino’s grocery store locations around the metro! Stocked flavors include Butter Pecan, Chocolate Brownie, Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, Peppermint Bark, Peanut Butter, and Vanilla Bean. Reward yourself for the achievement of grocery shopping with a sweet local pint.

November 17

Pierpont’s: For Pierpont’s final wine tasting of the year, the focus is on west coast wines. At a cost of $49, each guest will enjoy five tastings, a snack plate, and a $15 voucher for food. Spots are available to book in advance between 5 – 6:45 p.m.

District Biskuits: In North KC, District Biskuits is staying open late for Friday Friendsgiving. Stop by between 5 – 9 p.m. for impeccable towering biscuits and fried chicken, music, and friendly vibes.

November 18

Café Corazón: In celebration of Native American History Month, Café Corazón in Crossroads is hosting Merc Tribe, a Native American women-owned business, for a pop-up. Visit between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for a comforting yerba mate and empanada while shopping Merc Tribe’s handcrafted jewelry.

Jefferson’s: In Lenexa and North Kansas City, Jefferson’s is partnering with 610 Sports Radio for KU vs. K-State watch parties. The football game kicks off at 6 p.m. and the watch party features discounted pitchers plus a chance to win free wings for a year.

Ombra: Let loose before the actual big day–call up the besties and make reservations for Ombra’s Friendsgiving dinner on November 22. The $65 ticket includes a full festive feast of Barham Family Farm Roasted Turkey, sides & sweets, and two seasonal cocktails or wines.
