KC Craft Ramen: Through January 21, KC Craft Ramen in Overland Park invites you to their Noodle Aid: Earthquake Relief for Ishikawa, Japan event. For each bowl of ramen sold, they will donate $1.50 to the earthquake relief fund.

Class Act Coffee: Add this new and unique coffee shop to your must-try list. What makes it so special? Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., students of North Kansas City school district’s Entrepreneurial Studies Program fully run and operate this coffee shop. It is located in Prospect Plaza in Gladstone. 

January 19

The Shop Cigar Lounge: In Strawberry Hill, The Shop is letting the bartenders from not-yet-open Blue Palm Tiki take over from 7 – 10 p.m. $20 at the door grants entry and a wristband for drinks. This is a chance for the Blue Palm Tiki crew to test cocktails for their anticipated opening. 

January 20

Chingu Coffee: In the West Plaza neighborhood, Chingu Coffee is hosting Manor Records from 8 – 11 a.m. Manor Records–a non-profit record label and record store–will be selling used and local records on-site.

Zona Rosa: Bundle up and get out of the house… but for wine and shopping. Zona Rosa is hosting a Let’s Wine About Winter Bingo Crawl. The event runs from 12 – 5 p.m., and features wine samples, prizes, and more. Stop by any of the participating businesses–including Pink Dinosaur, The Babe Standard, The Muffin Top Bakery, and more–for your free bingo card. 

Boulevard Tours & Rec Center: Visit Boulevard to celebrate and sample at the Space Camper Quantum Hop Release Party from 1:30 – 9 p.m. This latest in the Space Camper series is an Imperial IPA ringing in at  9.5% ABV. Expect Citra and Mosaic hop flavors with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, peach, and berry. The Boulevard Tours & Rec Center is for ages 21+ only, and full of activities, retail options, and of course, Boulevard pours.

Power and Light: Another excuse to stay cozy while getting your party on: a Onsie Bar Crawl. Sign up in advance for $25 and check in between 4 – 6 p.m. at Howl at the Moon, wearing your onesie–the sillier the better if you ask me. Tickets include drink vouchers, a lanyard and cup, discounts, and more.

January 21

Vignettes: Tour Kansas City is holding a Mimosas and Manifesting Workshop at Vignettes in North Kansas City. The event will provide a regular or n/a mimosa and all required supplies for a vision board, prosperity spell, meditation, and more. The fun begins at 11:11 a.m. and tickets are $37.98 in advance or $45 at the door.

Plan Ahead

Tacos Valentina: On January 25, Tacos Valentina is popping up at Torn Label Brewing Co. for their first beer dinner. Tacos Valentina will feature five courses paired with new releases and old favorites from Torn Label. The menu features fresh dishes like lamb chops with tamarind, tostones, cheesecake, and much more. Tickets are $75 and are expected to sell out.

Scratch: Scratch in Prairie Village is hosting a wine dinner featuring the favorite wines from their 2023 dinner series. Five courses, prepared by Executive Chef Grant Ramirez, include crispy shrimp, grilled prime strip, lemon cake, and more. Tickets are $120 and the dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. on January 25.

SERV: This January 27, Overland Park’s SERV is hosting a pickleball tournament specifically for those taking part in dry January! Two divisions, based on skill level, means that participants are guaranteed four games and zero-proof cocktails. Sign up in advance for $65 per team of two.
