KC Artists, Represent!
Galleries come and go, and their exhibits change from month to month. But it’s a reasonable bet that the new and as yet undecorated Kansas City Metro Patrol Station, near the intersection of Prospect and 75th Street — on the site of the former Fairyland amusement park — will prove to be a slightly more enduring venue. The city has issued a call for local artists to propose original art for the station, as part of Kansas City’s One Percent for Art program, which allocates 1 percent of the city budget toward original art for public buildings. Artists should contact Elizabeth Bowman of the Municipal Art Commission at 816-513-2656 before the January 11 deadline.
