Karen Christine Downs gets 30 days in jail, probation for getting 14-year-old girls drunk

The authorities tend to frown on getting teenage girls drunk, even if it’s your daughter’s birthday party. Karen Christine Downs discovered this unfortunate fact in February 2009. Now, she’ll be spending 30 days in jail and the next two years on probation, according to the Star. 

In May, the 45-year-old Downs pleaded guilty to child endangerment for providing booze to minors at her daughter’s sleepover birthday party. Cops responding to a noise complaint at Downs’ home found 60 to 70 empty beer bottles and

several bottles of bourbon, vodka and whiskey scattered throughout the

basement as well as some really, really drunk teen girls.
