Kansas’ Turner Gill is the fifth-highest-paid coach in the Big 12

Kansas fans, avert your eyes. Almost as ugly as the Jayhawks’ 2-8 record is football coach Turner Gill’s salary. Gill is making $2,101,200, according to ESPN’s Big 12 blog.
That makes him the fifth-highest-paid coach in the Big 12. He’s the 28th-highest-paid coach nationally. That’s $1,050,600 per win. And it’s a substantial pay increase from what Gill was making as coach at Buffalo: $401,300 in his final season.
Gill is making more than Mike Gundy, whose Oklahoma State Cowboys are undefeated and ranked No. 2 in the nation, at $2,100,000. But you gotta figure that won’t be for long.
