Kansas medical marijuana bill dead for this year as med Mary J industry thrives

The Wichita Eagle‘s RSS news feed was trying to send the state of Kansas a message today with these two conflicting headlines: “Kansas medical pot measure languishes” and “Medical marijuana industry thriving.”
Kansas state Rep. Gail Finney‘s medical marijuana bill didn’t get out of committee because of regressive lawmakers like House speaker Mike O’Neal and Human Services Committee Chair Brenda Landwehr, who says there’s no interest in allowing the chronically ill to smoke up to dull the pain. Finney said there’s across-the-aisle support for the the bill, HB 2330.
