Kansas City trades its 16-year-old boy … not as creepy as it sounds

The Kansas City
Wizards won a lottery for the rights to 16-year-old soccer prodigy Luis Gil, and didn’t waste any time in trading him to Real Salt Lake.
According to the Wizards, when the California teen signed a contract with Major League Soccer, he signed on the condition that he could play for Real Salt Lake or the Seattle Sounders FC.
What did the Wizards get? An second round draft pick in 2011, an international roster spot and 25 percent of any transfer fee, should a soccer club outside of MLS buy Gil’s rights.
Luis, we hardly knew you.
