Kansas City Star revamps home page

The Star’s website has undergone a face lift, with the homepage becoming a sort of choose-your-own-adventure version of the last one. There are now “modules” that you can move up or down based on your interests, or hide altogether when you get pissed at Mellinger or Kraske — the 21st century version of screaming about canceling your subscription only to realize you’d really miss the crossword puzzle and Best Buy ads.

For now, only the homepage is sporting the new look — which is too bad, since it probably accounts for a small fraction of the site’s traffic, with most users finding the content through social media and the Goog. But the rest of the site will get spruced up soon, according to a letter from the editors about the changes:
