Kansas City Southern’s $12,000 laser cannon stolen … not time to crap your pants

Growing up on Star Wars, G.I. Joe and Transformers, I can remember wanting a laser cannon. Guess what? They exist. According to Gizmodo, a “potentially dangerous” $12,000 laser cannon was stolen from Kansas City Southern in Denton, Texas. The missing cannon isn’t weaponized — whew! — but it’s making a lot of folks with acronyms for names nervous (read: FBI, FAA, etc.).
The laser cannon was “used as a measuring device in the train business” and has a “long range.” Think a bigger laser pointer, and we know how much trouble those present for pilots.
