Kansas City Royals Face Trout, Angels During Their First Road Series Starting Friday, With Tickets Over $125

The Kansas City Royals had a frightening moment during their Opening Day victory, when Yordano Ventura went to the ground holding his right hand in the seventh inning. Luckily, it was only a thumb cramp, as the appendage locked up on Ventura days after he agreed to a five-year, $23 million contract.

But all is well for the Royals, who went on to win 10-1 against the Chicago White Sox. Alex Rios, who was making his Kansas City debut, hit a three-run homer during the team’s five-run seventh inning that sealed the deal. The table setters were an important piece to the victory, as the Royals first two batters, Alcides Escobar and Mike Moustakes, were a combined 4 for 7 with two walks and scored five runs. The Royals won their season opener for the first time in seven years.

After having Tuesday off, Kansas City will throw out Danny Duffy against Jose Quintana on Wednesday, followed by newly acquired Edinson Volquez against John Danks on Thursday night. This will take the Royals into the weekend, where they begin their first road series against the 2014 AL West division champion Los Angeles Angels.

The Royals take on the Angels on April 10th, 11th and 12th. It’s a good excuse to head out to sunny Anaheim, where Hipmunk.com can get you to the game with flights to and from Anaheim through various carriers. Whether you want to enjoy California before or after your Royals game, you can reserve hotels in Anaheim through Hipmunk and kick off the baseball season right.

Tickets to the Royals on April 10th against the Angels will be the highest priced ticket of the weekend, as it is the Angels home opener. The average price is $127.90 with a walk-in price of $36. The other two games are more affordable, averaging $50.13 and $45 with walk-in prices of $14 and $9 respectively.

It’ll be the first series between the Angels and the Royals since the 2014 playoffs, where the Royals swept the team with the best record in baseball. The 3-0 AL Division series victory kick started the Royals improbable World Series run, where they fell just short to the San Francisco Giants.
