Kansas City Royals Face AL-Best Houston Astros As Season Turns To July

There’s been a lot of commotion about the American League All-Star voting in recent weeks, due to the fact that the Kansas City Royals, at one point, were slated to hold eight of the nine starting positions. The voting has finally evened out, though, and some of Kansas City’s hopeful All-Star starters have lost their grasp on leading the voting. Even so, the Royals are still one of the top teams in all of baseball and command the high-billing that they’ve been getting.

Heading into July, the Royals are in first place in the American League Central division, leading the Minnesota Twins by 5.5 games, while the Tigers are six games back (as of 6/30). They’re 15 games over .500 and have one of the most complete rosters from top to bottom, one that certainly shouldn’t be diminished by the All-Star voting process.

There’s no place to discount the Royals as the MLB calendar turns to July. With information provided by SeatSmart.com, below are the most and least expensive Kansas City Royals tickets on the secondary market for the month of July.

Most Expensive: 7/17/2015 | Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals | US Cellular Field | Average Price: $131.50 | Get-in Price: $5

The Royals have a great chance to add onto their division lead when they face the White Sox in their most expensive game of July. Royals fans who are interested in making this road trip also have a great chance at saving time and money on parking in Chicago by going through ParkWhiz.com, which has parking spots available starting at $20. The White Sox are in last place in the division and trail the Royals by 12.5 games, but it doesn’t look like they’ll get any closer in this particular series. Kansas City has won four of their six meetings this season.

7/24/2015 | Kansas City Royals vs. Houston Astros | Kauffman Stadium | Average Price: $96.47 | Get-in Price: $22

7/25/2015 | Kansas City Royals vs. Houston Astros | Kauffman Stadium | Average Price: $103.83 | Get-in Price: $22

Two of the most talented teams in baseball meet towards the end of the month at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals host the first-place Houston Astros, who have made it clear to the rest of the league that this year’s team isn’t a fluke. Eleven games over .500, this could be a preview of a possible playoff matchup down the line. It’s why Astros tickets have been a surprising draw, even when they’re playing away from Minute Maid Park.

Least Expensive: 7/6-9/2015 | Kansas City Royals vs. Tampa Bay Rays | Kauffman Stadium | Average Price: $39 (Four Games)

The four least expensive Royals tickets in July are each of the four games in their set against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are exceeding all preseason expectations after losing some of their talented pitching staff and manager Joe Maddon, but none of that matters right now to a club that has been overachieving as much as any other team in the game. The Rays are tied for first in the AL East division with the Baltimore Orioles as July begins, but they also have the Blue Jays and Yankees closely behind on their tails.
