Kansas City records 63rd homicide; Mayor Funkhouser wants sales tax to put 100 new officers on the street

This is going to help Mayor Mark Funkhouser‘s case for hiring 100 patrol officers and upgrading the KCPD’s resources. A man was shot to death in the parking lot of a northeast Kansas City apartment complex near Lexington and Garfield around 2 a.m., the Star reports.

Police are looking for a dark colored Sedan. Not a lot of information out yet. The victim’s name hasn’t been released. He’s described as a black male in his mid twenties. But if you know something, you should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
