Kansas City Museum reopens its doors to the public

• The Kansas City Museum is back.

For five years it has been about the future of the Kansas City Museum, but today Corinthian Hall returns to the present. Still in the midst of ongoing renovations, the Kansas City Museum (3218 Gladstone Boulevard) opens its doors to the public this morning for the first time in a half-decade (outside of a recurring series of renovation tours known as hard-hat happy hours).

The museum’s first exhibit will be Ours to Fight For: Kansas City During World War II. The display on the second floor centers on wartime posters and artifacts that together paint the picture of what it was like to live in Kansas City 70 years ago. The exhibit runs through May 19. Tours start on the hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and the museum has Sunday hours of 12 to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
