Kansas City, Missouri, school superintendent John Covington resigns
You can add John Covington to the long list of former Kansas City, Missouri, school superintendents. Covington resigned Wednesday behind closed doors. He lasted about two years and four months.
Board member Arthur Benson also resigned. No word on why both said peace out to the district.
KMBC reported that an emergency school-board meeting is scheduled for noon today. The TV station also reported that there were reports of Covington butting heads with board president Airick West, possibly over a major construction project.
Fox 4 released a copy of Benson’s resignation letter, in which he writes that Covington may be persuaded to stay if West resigns.
