Kansas City jaywalking sting curbed over race issues

The Kansas City police will no longer be cracking down on street-crossers who can’t stay inside the lines. But before you applaud the department for realizing the stupidity of devoting resources to jaywalking in a city beset by actual crime problems, you should probably know that they haven’t figured that out at all.

Nope, no enlightenment to see here: The force just backed out when someone pointed out that their sting happened to coincide with the NAACP’s national conference. They’ll probably start busting jaywalkers as soon as all the black people go home.
