Kansas City is the third most dangerous city in the United States, according to Forbes

Forbes.com just ranked the most

dangerous cities in the United States, using FBI and Department of Transportation data on the number of violent crimes and traffic fatalities per 100,000 residents. Kansas City is the third most-dangerous, according to Forbes, falling behind St. Louis at No. 2, and first-ranked Memphis, Tennessee.

To date, there have been 85 homicides in Kansas City this year. What if we could figure out how much each murder costs us — not in incalculable amounts of grief, fear and anger, but in cold, hard cash?
