Kansas City firefighters battle snowfall and hoarding to save the neighborhood

Editor’s note: This story was written with a space heater blasting onto the author’s feet as he groaned about the dampness of his socks. The author is a total pussy.

No Snow Day for Kansas City firefighters, who found themselves battling a two-alarm house fire this morning near the intersection of 12th Street and Benton Avenue. Firefighters already have their work cut out for them on days like this, when unplowed streets and frozen hoses make an already hellish job seem even worse. This morning, though, they arrived at the burning structure to find a whole other problem: stuff. Lots and lots of stuff.
