Kansas City Chiefs’ Mike Vrabel retiring, joining Ohio State coaching staff

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel announced this morning that he’s retiring from pro football and joining the coaching staff at Ohio State.
Vrabel played college football at Ohio State, which just vacated every win from the 2010 season, including a Big Ten Championship and a Sugar Bowl victory, amid a scandal in which Buckeye football players traded autographs and memorabilia for tattoos and money. Coach Jim Tressel lost his job, and Ohio State has placed itself on two years of probation, although no one’s certain if that’ll be good enough for the NCAA. Vrabel will be a linebackers coach for his old college roommate and fellow defensive lineman, interim coach Luke Fickell.
