The football gods have forgiven the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs put playoff tickets on sale to season-ticket holders just days before a road trip to San Diego. The Chiefs were hanging on to a tenuous two-game lead of the AFC West at the time, and sure enough, the angry gods struck, forcing quarterback Matt Cassel to miss the game due to emergency surgery to remove his appendix. The result: A 31-0 loss to the Chargers in which the Chiefs managed just 67 yards of total offense.
But the gods are apparently forgiving. The Chiefs clinched the AFC West after beating up on the Tennessee Titans in a 34-14 victory at Arrowhead Sunday (and losses by the Chargers and Oakland Raiders). And now tickets are set to go on sale to Jackson County taxpayers and the general public on Monday.
