Kansas City animal control cracking down on unlicensed pets

​If you’re harboring unlicensed pets, you better get them street legal. Kansas City’s animal control workers are going door to door to make sure your pets are licensed. If they aren’t, you have a fine coming.

After hearing about pet owners being surprised at home, I called animal control to see what was up. The woman working the phones said people with licensed pets were issued notices last month that animal control workers would be checking in on them to make sure they didn’t have unlicensed pets. They aren’t going to everyone’s home though, and the ones that are being checked were picked at random.
