Junk in the Trunk

When local fashion designer Clevon Jones pops his trunk, you’ll want to see what’s inside. Tonight at ScionLab (18th Street and Oak, behind Grinders), get a first peek at what’s new and hot this fall from Jones’ three-year-old company, MGOT Clothing. Jones says he draws inspiration from music for his urban-wear hoodie and T-shirt designs, and you’ll get the chance to see just what he means. A handful of local hip-hop and R&B artists will thunk, thunk, thunk while Jones’ models make breathing, blinking and strutting look sexy. Doors open at 8 p.m., the fashion show follows around 9, and the beats will keep coming until at least midnight. Jones’ Pop My Trunk Fashion Show is a way to get familiar with local style by hanging with its tastemakers. And with the tiny $2 door charge, it’s a real cheap lesson.
