Joseph Young, ‘Plaid Shirt Robber,’ gets 18 years in federal prison

Joseph Young was a decent bank robber, but he had the least intimidating criminal nickname of all time. He was the “Plaid Shirt Robber,” so named because that’s the signature garment he had on in the security footage.
Young will be trading his plaids in for a monochromatic prison jumpsuit. This morning the former midtowner was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for robbing three South Dakota banks.
