John Doe needs a better publicist

After a sub-par attendance when he played the Bottleneck with the Sadies last summer, you’d think John Doe would’ve made some adjustments to whomever publicizes his concert appearances.

Considering that we here at Wayward Blog had heard nothing of Mr. Doe’s appearance at Crosstown Station tomorrow night until about two hours ago, and adding in the fact that we’re the professionals who get paid to know what’s up, one has to wonder how the casual fan’s supposed to be aware that he’s playing. Seriously — there were friends of mine who are huge fans of everything Doe’s done, and they didn’t know about the show last summer until the morning of. Sad, man.

We’ll let you know the details here and now: the show starts at Crosstown Station at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night, with doors at 6:00 p.m. Since you’ll probably have been down in that area for the various St. Patrick’s Day festivities anyhow, it’ll merely be a matter of you staggering a few blocks and pulling $10 out of your pocket for the cover. Cody Wyoming and Erik Voeks will open the show.
