Jerry Cammisano and five others find out their sentences in illegal sports betting case

Six members of a  $3.5 million sports gambling ring with ties to the Kansas City Crime Family found out their sentences on Thursday. Here’s how it all shook out:

Gerlarmo “Jerry” Cammisano, who pleaded guilty in April to running the whole operation, was sentenced to 14 months in federal prison without

parole. He was also ordered to forfeit $201,137 and two

computers. In March, the feds

alleged that Cammisano was running the operation with James J. Moretina;Michael J. Lombardo; and James

L. Dicapo, working under him as bookmakers.

Prosecutors alleged they ran an Internet gambling ring that took in

$3,584,895 in wagers between March 2006 to April 2009 using a  Costa Rican 1-800

number and website.
