Jeffrey White shot to death at 52nd and Brooklyn; 61 homicides in Kansas City, Missouri

UPDATE (4:08 p.m. August 2): Kansas City police have identified 22-year-old Jeffrey White as the victim of Saturday’s homicide at 52nd and Brooklyn.

Original Story (6 a.m. August 1): The homicide total hit 61 over the weekend after a man was gunned down in a drive-by shooting Saturday at 52nd and Brooklyn.

The yet-to-be-named victim and another man were shot around 11:15 p.m. The second shooting victim was treated at a local hospital and later released.
