Jason & the Scorchers at Knuckleheads, June 11

Early ’80s rockabilly and country revival act Jason & the Scorchers have reformed several times. There was a full-on reunion in the mid-90s, with a couple of albums released. The band then broke up again, and reformed for a few one-off dates over the past few years.

The band has now full-on reformed, with original members Jason Ringenberg and Warner Hodges. They released Halcyon Times early last month, and are touring behind it all summer long. The tour will bring the band to Knuckleheads on Friday, June 11, with openers the Rumblejetts.

While I don’t expect this show to sell out, it’s going to be packed as hell. The Scorchers were a huge draw around these parts during the ’80s, and I’ve yet to hear anyone who saw the band describe it as anything other than one of the best shows ever.

Hell, you can see a video of the band performing on some show or another after the jump, and it’s as ridiculously over-the-top a performance as I’ve ever seen.
