Janelle Monáe collaborates with Duran Duran on the band’s forthcoming album

Like proud Kansas Citians, we religiously follow the activities of Janelle Monáe, one of our favorite local girls made good. This morning, we were delighted by the news that the R&B goddess has partnered up with 1980s icon Duran Duran on the band’s forthcoming album, to be released in September. 

What we know so far: Monáe will be featured on at least one track, “Pressure Off,” which will likely be the album’s lead single. 

What we hope will come: A big, splashy Duran Duran tour featuring Monáe, with a big ol’ weekend of shows in KC. Is this likely? No. But it’s Friday, and we’re dreaming big.
