James Moretina becomes latest man to plead guilty in illegal gambling case

Normally, if you’re going to make money in gambling, it’s good to be the house. Not today. Yet another Kansas City man has pled guilty in federal court to running on online gambling business that processed more than $3.5 million in bets from 2006 to 2009.
James M. Moretina, 61, was the last defendant in the case to plead guilty to being part of an illegal sports bookmaking operation, following partners Gerlarmo Cammisano and Michael Lombarado – both of Kansas City – and James Dicapo, or Parkville.
