Last week Missouri State Rep. Curt Dougherty — now running for Jackson County legislator — accused political rival Dennis Waits of using his political power to fix sweet deals for clients of his law practice.

Waits dismissed Dougherty’s allegations as nothing more than grasps for attention in an interview with The Pitch.
